The lines and grain of Korea.
The heart of kory. Rather than any one city, it carries the memory of Korea as a whole. Its forms come from the round generosity of a moon jar and the S-balance of the taegeuk, and the warmth of travel and gift-giving is carried in a soft coral. On the scarf the taegeuk curve flows across with a single red line following it; on the hair tie five pendants spell K·O·R·E·A; on the slide charm a red KOREA and a blue KOREA lock together like a taegeuk.

Seoul forest, breath of dancheong.
The most urban of the four — a city where the old and the now sit side by side. Its forms come from the lift at the end of a hanok roof and the close lattice of a bojagi wrapping cloth, and its colour is a gold taken from dancheong, the painted eaves. On the claw clip and the scarf that lattice is laid in lavender grey, throwing a faint shadow along the grain in the light. The slide charm is shaped like a hanok roof lifting at both ends, and in SEOUL on the neck pillow, N Seoul Tower stands in for the L.

Wave marks, sunlit water.
A line that carries the openness of a harbour city. Busan has almost no straight lines — the roads bend, caught between the mountains and the sea. Its form comes from the curve of a wave coming in and drawing back; its colour is a sea blue taken from the water at midday. On the scarf and the claw clip that grain runs from deep blue into pale sky, then into sand beige. The slide charm is wave-shaped, and in BUSAN on the neck pillow a wave runs out of the last letter.
Jeju a small memory of jeju
Wind, and the breath of volcanic stone.
The line closest to nature. On Jeju the sound you hear most is not the waves but the wind. Its forms come from basalt walls full of holes, camellias that fall whole, tangerines hanging in every field and the low ridge of an oreum; its colour is a moss green taken from the oreum itself. On the scarf and the claw clip, tangerine, oreum and volcanic scoria are scattered as coloured dots — scattered the way Jeju's stone walls and fields are. The slide charm is a half-round like a tangerine segment, and in JEJU on the neck pillow a tangerine slice holds the word up from below.
